FDA Will Introduce New Drug Labels (9/29/2005)

A representative of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced yesterday plans to make drug labeling information easier to read and understand. CNN.com reports that the new program will include an online component, giving patients more access to information and timely updates.

BBC: AIDS Virus Could Be Getting Weaker (9/29/2005)

Paxil May Be Linked to Birth Defects (9/28/2005)

The popular antidepressant Paxil may be linked to an increase in birth defects among kids of mothers who use it in the first trimester. This was reported today in the Kaiser Family Foundation Daily Reproductive Health Report, which sources USA Today, AP/Philadelphia Inquirer and the FDA.

Reuters reports that a new drug, Orencia, may tackle RA better than those currently available. This based on a study supported by the drug's manufacturer, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and the National Institutes of Health.

Research: Tai Chi Can Help Fibromyalgia Symptoms (9/18/2005)

The National Center on Physical Activity and Disability is reporting that a new study shows tai chi exercise has a positive effect on fibromyalgia symptoms. Most participants enjoyed it, showing interest in continuing it after the study. Check it out!

WebMD recently reported on a study that essentially proves the existence of the placebo effect, and also draws ties between elevated mood and pain relief.
