There’s not a single one of us who hasn’t been angry (or sad, or furious, or irritated) at her chronic illness. I’ve struggled with anger about chronic illness over the years, sometimes lashing out at myself or others because of so much emotion stored up within. And that is definitely not healthy!
Today, I wanted to talk with you a bit about acceptance and its role in cooling the flames of anger. Acceptance is NOT giving up. It’s NOT giving in. It’s getting REAL. This is one of a series of talks I have planned about the role of acceptance in managing life with chronic illness.
You! I would love to hear what you think about the concept of acceptance. Have you tried working with it? Do you think it’s bogus? Join the conversation below and fill me in—I would love to hear your thoughts.
