Congratulations to Michelle Traub, our 3rd birthday essay contest winner!

Wow, what a wonderful contest this was! It filled my heart with joy to read all of your wonderful essays (nearly 50 in all) and it was really tough to pick the winners. And truly—you're all winners, because you care enough about yourselves to learn new ways to live full lives in spite of chronic illness. (And because everyone who entered wins some nifty ChronicBabe buttons to wear and share!)
The top prize went to Michelle Traub, who wrote this terrific essay that brought tears to my eyes (plus, she got extra points for creativity):

Courageous in the face of scary illnesses
Honest about my limitations
Resourceful in finding the best treatment options and information
Optimistic about the progress of women's health care
Nice even when I'm not feeling my best
Inspired by the strength of the millions of other sick chicks out there

Accessorized so that I always sparkle

Opinions—Jenni's insight on dealing with chronic illness help me keep things in perspective.

Eternal gratitude—For a dedicated little Editrix who reminds me that no matter how challenging my chronic illness gets I will always be a BABE.
